Biodegradable Plastic – An Eco-Friendly Alternative explores a simple, low-cost method of producing biodegradable plastic from natural materials as a practical response to plastic pollution. The project uses cornstarch, water, vinegar, and glycerin to create a flexible bioplastic sheet through a heating and drying process. Cornstarch provides the natural polymer base, glycerin improves flexibility, and vinegar helps reduce cracking during drying. The resulting material was used to produce prototype items including packaging sheets, a small flower vase, a desk organizer, and seed-embedded plastic capable of supporting plant growth.
