Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in Malaysia, generating a significant amount of used coffee grounds that are often discarded as waste. The accumulation of this waste contributes to environmental pollution and increases the burden on landfills. To address this issue, this project introduces BeanClean, an eco-friendly cleaning scrub produced from recycled coffee grounds. The innovation aims to transform coffee waste into a useful household cleaning product while promoting sustainable waste management practices. BeanClean is formulated using dried coffee grounds, baking soda, and liquid dishwashing soap. The coffee grounds act as a natural abrasive agent for removing grease, stains, and dirt, while baking soda enhances cleaning efficiency and odor removal. The product was prepared through a simple mixing process and tested on greasy kitchen utensils and surfaces to evaluate its effectiveness. The results indicate that BeanClean effectively removes grease and stains while utilizing low-cost, environmentally friendly materials. The product demonstrates good cleaning performance and provides a practical alternative to conventional cleaning scrubs. By converting waste into a value-added product, BeanClean reduces the amount of coffee waste sent to landfills and encourages recycling practices within the community. Overall, BeanClean showcases a sustainable approach to waste utilization and supports environmental conservation efforts. The innovation contributes to responsible consumption and production while promoting awareness of sustainable living practices.
