This study presents the development of an eco-friendly and cost-effective copper cleaning solution using natural household ingredients: tamarind paste, baking soda, salt, and coffee powder. Copper items commonly experience tarnishing due to oxidation, leading to reduced aesthetic value and functionality. Conventional cleaning agents often contain harsh chemicals that may harm human health and the environment, creating a need for safer alternatives. The objective of this project is to formulate and evaluate a biodegradable cleaning paste using locally available materials. The methodology involved preparing a mixture of 20 g tamarind paste, 10 g baking soda, 20 g salt, 20 g coffee powder, and 20 ml water, which was applied to tarnished copper plates and strips under controlled conditions. The findings revealed that the formulation effectively removed oxidation, restored surface shine, and improved cleanliness through a combination of acidic reaction and abrasive action. In conclusion, this innovation demonstrates that natural ingredients can serve as an efficient and sustainable solution for copper cleaning. The product has strong potential for commercialization as an affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly household cleaner.
