Water scarcity and inefficient water management are major challenges affecting communities worldwide. To address this issue, the Young Scientists Team from SJKT Bandar Sri Sendayan, Malaysia, developed Agrivolt Rain System V2.0 – AquaSense, an upgraded smart rainwater harvesting system with an integrated water level monitoring feature. This innovation collects rainwater, filters impurities, stores the water, and monitors the water level using a sensor system.

The system consists of three main stages: rainwater collection, filtration, and storage. Rainwater is collected through a funnel and filtered using layers of rocks, sand, charcoal, and cotton before being stored in a well for future use. The AquaSense smart sensor provides real-time water level indication using green and red lights, allowing users to manage water resources efficiently. Additionally, a mini turbine is incorporated to generate renewable energy from flowing water, which can be used for small farm applications such as lighting and water pumps.

The project uses recycled materials, making it environmentally friendly, affordable, and easy to implement in different communities. Agrivolt Rain System V2.0 – AquaSense promotes sustainable water conservation, reduces flooding and soil erosion, and supports clean energy solutions. This innovation contributes to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by encouraging responsible water usage, renewable energy adoption, and climate action for a greener future.
