Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, and highly toxic gas that can accumulate rapidly in enclosed spaces such as parked vehicles, posing a serious threat to human life, especially young children. Many carbon monoxide poisoning incidents occur without warning, making early detection essential to prevent avoidable tragedies.
GuardianAir – IoT Carbon Monoxide Early Warning System for Child Safety is an innovative project developed to improve child safety by providing real-time monitoring of carbon monoxide levels in parked vehicles. The system aims to detect unsafe CO concentrations at an early stage and provide timely warnings, helping parents and caregivers respond before the situation becomes life-threatening.
Developed using affordable Internet of Things (IoT) technology, GuardianAir demonstrates that effective safety solutions can be both accessible and practical. This innovation supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting safer environments and protecting lives through smart technology.
This version is more suitable for an innovation poster because it introduces the project without revealing the methodology, features, or solution details, leaving those for the other sections of your poster.
