The device utilizes anthocyanin, a natural pigment extracted from purple cabbage, as a pH-sensitive indicator that changes colour according to the acidity of a food sample. The indicator is prepared by extracting the pigment, soaking filter paper in the solution, and drying it for practical use. Users simply dip the paper into a food sample and compare the resulting colour with a reference chart to assess its acidity. This innovation offers a safe, affordable, and sustainable alternative to conventional laboratory testing while promoting food safety awareness in homes, schools, laboratories, and small food industries.
