SS477: VENTINOVA

NAUFAL HAQIM BIN BADRUL HISYAM KOLEJ VOKASIONAL TAIPING

Ventinova is an eco-innovative sustainable building material developed as a green partition block by utilizing two major industrial waste streams: water treatment plant sludge and recycled brick waste generated from construction workshop activities. The increasing accumulation of industrial solid waste, particularly sludge from water treatment facilities and construction debris, poses serious environmental and waste management challenges in Malaysia. At the same time, the construction industry continues to depend heavily on conventional materials such as cement, sand, and timber, which contribute significantly to natural resource depletion and carbon emissions. Ventinova introduces a novel waste-to-resource approach based on circular economy principles by transforming underutilized waste materials into a value-added construction product. Through a systematic process involving drying, crushing, material proportioning, and moulding techniques, the waste materials were processed and fabricated into lightweight, durable, and easy-to-install partition blocks suitable for landscape and exterior architectural applications. The innovation offers a dual impact by simultaneously addressing industrial waste management challenges and providing a sustainable alternative to conventional construction materials. Ventinova contributes to environmentally responsible construction practices by reducing landfill dependency, minimizing resource consumption, and promoting low-carbon building solutions. Aligned with global sustainability goals, this innovation supports the advancement of sustainable industry and infrastructure (SDG 9), sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), and climate action (SDG 13). Overall, Ventinova demonstrates strong potential as a scalable green construction technology capable of transforming industrial waste into valuable building resources for future sustainable development.
