ABSTRACT

Commercial face mists often contain alcohol, artificial fragrances, synthetic chemicals, and chemical preservatives that may irritate sensitive skin and increase product cost. To address this issue, this innovation introduces a Herbal Face Mist, a natural, low-cost, and customizable skincare product made using plant-based ingredients with minimal preservatives. The short shelf-life of the product makes it safer for regular use as it reduces dependence on artificial preservation methods. This herbal face mist uses butterfly pea flowers and cloves as the main ingredients. The methodology involved boiling distilled water and adding butterfly pea flowers with clove, followed by simmering for 5–7 minutes. The results showed that the mist appeared blue under neutral conditions and provided light hydration and a refreshing sensation on the skin. The product successfully demonstrated colour changes based on pH levels, confirming its interactive property. The significance of this innovation lies in its ability to provide a safer, eco-friendly, and affordable skincare alternative using natural ingredients. It also promotes awareness of plant-based cosmetics while reducing exposure to harsh chemicals commonly found in commercial products. In conclusion, HERBAL FACE MIST introduces a creative approach to skincare by combining beauty, science, and innovation.
