This project is in the field of Science related to Chemistry and Biology. It will help to promote Sustainable Development Goal 11 and 12 which are the sustainable cities and communities and ensure sustainable consumption and production pattern. This project will help to solve problems arises from waste Ipomoea batatas within the communities and market wholesaler. Ipomoea batatas is the sweet potatoes that can be easily found and used as food in our daily life. 376 million metric tons of potatoes were produced globally in 2021 and from such huge amount of production, 16% of the potatoes are wasted and rot in the trash. The aim of this project is to convert the waste sweet potatoes into biodegradable film that can be transformed into multifunctional household materials such as bags, mask, decorative flower and others. At the same time, this help to reduce the waste sweet potato left to rot in the environment and contribute to the release of greenhouse gases. It is a simple procedure that everybody can do. With a tiny effort, another waste is reduced to help makes sustain a cleaner and greener communities and environment.
