Frequent power outages pose significant challenges to daily life, particularly in activities such as reading, completing academic tasks, and recreational play. The project Bright Solutions for Dark Times was undertaken to investigate and design practical interventions that mitigate these challenges. The study involved the identification of problems associated with power cuts, followed by the development of prototypes including blackout podcast, cool air circulator and music without power. Each prototype was systematically tested to assess feasibility and effectiveness. Findings indicate that the project not only generated viable solutions for blackout conditions but also enhanced students’ capacities for critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative problem-solving.
