In school environments, children frequently get injuries from sports, vigorous play, and accidents, especially those affecting the skin. These injuries can affect a child's physical and mental health in both the short and long term. There are a few types of injuries, including cuts and abrasions, bites and scratches, and burns. All of these are the most common types of skin injuries in children, which are frequently caused by falls, playground accidents, rough interactions during physical activities, and accidental heat exposure.
If left untreated, all of these symptoms can lead to skin infections, which can cause more serious problems and result in a longer recovery time. A natural remedies-based skin cream is designed to address these problems among school children. A homemade skin balm produced with Cassia alata, aloe vera, rice water, castor oil, and vitamin E has potential benefits for skin health. Cassia alata, often known as ringworm bush, contains bioactive substances such as flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids, all of which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial activities. Aloe vera is well known for its ability to soothe, moisten, and promote healing due to its polysaccharides and vitamins A, C, and E, which help in skin repair. Rice water, high in vitamins B and E, amino acids, and antioxidants, has been traditionally utilized to improve the texture of skin while also protecting against UV rays. Castor oil, which contains ricinoleic acid, relaxes and nourishes the skin's moisture barrier, thus improving skin hydration. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from oxidative stress, stimulates wound healing, and aids in skin regeneration. When combined, these compounds can provide hydration, anti-ageing benefits, increased softness of the skin, and protection against damage from the environment. While each constituent offers unique benefits, there has been limited research on their combined effects in topical preparations, underscoring the need for further clinical assessment. This balm may offer a simple, natural option for keeping healthy skin and treating issues such as dryness, irritation, and minor skin problems.
